EDITH MARY COUTTS (nee BARTON) In loving memory of Edith Mary Coutts (nee Barton), a beloved wife, sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Edie passed away peacefully on September 14, 2003, surrounded by her loving family. She will be lovingly remembered and missed by her husband Robert (Bob) daughters, Betty Bisson (Gerry), Lynne Nix (Greg), Heather Collingridge (Jim), Robyn Curtis (Martin) and her grandchildren, Jamie, David, J.J., Sharda, Lindsay, Christopher, Jennifer, Heather, Robert, Andrew and great-grandchildren, Robert, James, Kayleigh and Dylan; sister Edna and many nieces and nephews. Edie was predeceased by her brother Charlie and sister Doris. Edie was born in Miami, MB on December 27, 1922. At age 18, she moved to Winnipeg, where she married and raised her family. Edie will be remembered best for her dedication and unconditional love towards her family and friends. Edie enjoyed being an active member of Sturgeon Creek United Church. She enjoyed long walks with her husband, quilting, knitting and travelling. Mum loved entertaining family and friends and will be fondly remembered for her fabulous hospitality, cooking and baking. She especially treasured her time spent with her children and grandchildren. Mum was a long time member of several bridge clubs. Her passion for bridge was shared with old and new friends alike. "It is healthy and honourable to weep at the loss of someone we love. Healthy because such passion must be released. Honourable because it is respectful to admit the importance of people who have loved and supported us... people whose footprints cannot ever be matched." - Maya Angelou Our family would like to thank the many family members and friends who were so kind to our Mum during the last year. We would like to give special thanks to Dr. Colin Fletcher, Deer Lodge Centre, Mums Home care workers, and the palliative care teams at the St. Boniface and Grace Hospitals. A memorial service will be held at Sturgeon Creek United Church, 208 Thompson Dr., at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 18. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Grace Hospital Foundation Hospice Fund, 300 Booth Dr., Winnipeg, MB R3J 3M7. NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200
