JEAN KACHAN (nee GOSHULAK) Passed away suddenly on September 13, 2003. She was recently predeceased by her beloved husband Matthew in December, 2002. Jean was also predeceased by her parents, Julia and Dymtro; her brothers, Nick, Joe, John, Harry, and William; and her sisters, Anne Roth, and Elsie Kostiw. She is survived by her brothers, Mike (Ruth) Koshulak of Winnipeg, and Alex Goshulak of Tyndall, and her sisters, Lena Pilon and Eva Opyc of Beausejour, Mary (Ed) Rattai of Kenora ON, Kay (Alex) Harasymchuk of Sudbury, ON; her aunt Anne Kubish of Beausejour, and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by cousins, Sophie and family of Ukraine, Stephanie and family of Australia and sisters-in-law, Elsie (John) Miskiw, Vicki Horbas, and Carol (Lawrence) Urban. Jean was born on November 9, 1928, and grew up on the family farm in the District of Green Oak. She came to Winnipeg at a young age, and found employment within various restaurants in the North End, and there she met Matthew. They married in 1955, and were happily married for 47 years. Jean had many talents with a needle and thread, such as crocheting, quilting, knitting, and embroidering many Ukrainian blouses for family and friends. She made many beautiful quilts, and enjoyed giving them away to everyone as much as she enjoyed making them. She loved the outdoors, and spent many happy hours gardening. Jean was a very friendly and kind person, and was known to everyone as "Auntie Jean". The Family would like to thank Dave and Janet Schab for being so kind and helpful. Prayers will be held on Friday, September 19 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Saturday, September 20 at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Andrews Ukrainian Catholic Church, 160 Euclid Ave. with Rt. Rev. Mitrat Jaroslaw Holowaty and Father Isidore Dziadyk, O.S.B.M. officiating. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Pallbearers are Larry Kachan, Steve Nazarewich, Mark Goshulak, Joe Roth, Ken Harasymchuk, and Wally Roth. In lieu of flowers, if friends and family so desire, donations may be made to the charity of their choice. REST IN PEACE VICHNAYA PAMYAT CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
