GRACE MARGUERITE MATTERN Grace Marguerite Mattern passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 16, at the age of 91. Grace was predeceased by her beloved husband Carl (Charlie) in 1958; her brother Frank McIntosh in 1979, and her daughter-in-law Judy in 1992. Grace was born in Winnipeg in 1911 and spent her entire life here, growing up and later marrying in the west end. She spent many years working at Eatons, volunteering at Age and Opportunity, and sitting on the board of 64 Nassau, where she resided for many years. Mom will be greatly missed by her son Barry and daughter-in-law Brenda. "Nana" will also be greatly missed by her granddaughter Maggi (Tony) and her "special little boy", D.J. and also grandson Jeff and her great-grandsons, Brendan and Danyon, and grandson David. "Nana" is also survived by two step grandchildren, Heather (Mark) and Brian (Carrie) and their children. "Auntie Grace" will be sadly missed by her nieces and nephews and their families. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Friday, the 19th of September at 12:30 p.m. at Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway (at Sherbrook). Interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, a donation may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent Rd.
