Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEVA GLADYS MOORE (nee BRIDGES) In loving memory of Eva Gladys who passed from this life to the next on September 17, 2003, aged 97 years. Eva was predeceased by her husband of 68 years, Andrew Jamieson Moore (June 10, 1996) and joins her other daughter Donalda Valentine, who died at birth. She is mourned by her two daughters, Doreen (Jack) Parker and Phyllis (Fred) MacDonald-Holder, all of Winnipeg. She will be missed by her grandchildren, Andrea Parker, Dawn (Grant) May, Jolene Parker, Cindy (Ron) Parker-Rentz and Jackie (Scott) Jackson; as well as her great-grandchildren, Ashley Filyk, Andrew Filyk, Troy Jackson, Haley Jackson and her great-great-granddaughter, Emily Filyk. Eva was born in Cartwright, MB into a large family. One brother, Allen Bridges still survives. She married Andrew Moore of Mather, MB and began married life farming in the Mather district and in Starbuck, and then moving to Winnipeg prior to Andrew serving the Second World War. They then built a home in Transcona where they lived for many happy years before moving to Nassau Street. Eva came from pioneer settler stock in Southwest Manitoba and knew the meaning of hard work - first on the farm and later, through her own education initiatives at Manitoba Cartage and the Canadian General Insurance Co. Her dedication to her family, her quiet faith in God, her dignity and strength served as inspiration to those who knew and loved her. She will be remembered for her generous and compassionate spirit, which was always ready to lend a hand, which is now lovingly enfolded in the arms of God. "When the earth shall claim your limbs, Then shall you truly dance." The funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 20 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Interment will follow in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
