Maurice was born on December 22, 1924 and grew up on the family farm in Saint-Leon, MB. He was the fourth child in a family of 15. Maurice worked at numerous jobs for many years away from home before returning to his fathers farm. On November 21, 1959, Maurice married Irene Rondeau and settled on his fathers farm where all of their six daughters were born and raised. Together they worked the land laboriously praying it would hear their plea and reward them plentifully for their toils. After many years on the farm, Maurice and wife Irene sold the farm and moved to Somerset in 1977. On August 16, 1981, Maurice lost his loved one Irene. In 1984, Maurice met Therese Fredette of Winnipeg and was married on June 29 1985. Together they resided in Somerset until 1998 and then moved to Winnipeg. Dad will always be remembered for his love of the outdoors and the many happy hours spent gardening. He especially treasured his time spent with his children and grandchildren and telling us his countless stories of his past. Even though Dad was suffering through his illness, he always had a smile to share with everyone. Many thanks to all those who accompanied Maurice on his journey home. Our gratitude goes to the personnel at Tache Centre. All of you have been angels at his side. Adieu Dad, Pepere! On taime beaucoup!
