JACK MACGILLIVRAY On September 16, 2003 our Dad, Jack Macgillivray passed away. Jack was predeceased by his wife Adele and is survived by his 5 children, their spouses, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; Don, Susan, Kit, Penny, Ella, Jock, Patsy, Sid, Kelly, Daria, Jessie, J.D., May, Elizabeth, Bob, Geneva, Maggie, Angus, Rose Adele, David, Allie, Val, Madrin, Francie, and his one surviving brother Fr. Donald Macgillivray, and his many nieces and nephews. He was born in 1919, grew up in Saskatoon and spent his summers in Antigonish, NS where he met his dear Adele. He was the seventh son of nine children born to Rose and Alec Macgillivray. Our Dad was fortunate to have married his childhood sweetheart Adele McGibbon, and they maintained their spark throughout 58 years of marriage. He always seemed to have the right balance of values, talent, faith, and luck. He served Canadians, in the Second World War as a tail gunner in 424 Squadron RCAF and later as a Squadron Leader in 2402 Winnipeg. He worked in the grain trade in Winnipeg for 40 years before retiring to Sidney BC where he shared 17 happy years with Adele. Good family times, sing-songs, his sweet rendition of Annie Laurie, winning the mile at the Antigonish Highland Games, too many rounds of golf to count a terrific guy who will be missed. We want to thank his many kind friends for their support. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Covenant House Youth Crisis Centre, 575 Drake St. Vancouver BC, V6B 4K8
