HELEN SMITH Helen Smith, aged 88 years, passed away September 15, 2003. Helen was born in Port Arthur, ON on July 3, 1915 to John and Bessie Baxter. After working at Marshall-Wells, she married Jack Smith and moved to Winnipeg where she lived for the rest of her life. Helens main interests were her family and friends, and she was treasured by her relatives for her knowledge of the familys history and her storytelling. The great tragedy in her life was the death of husband Jack in 1995. She was predeceased by her two beloved sisters, Susan and Bessie. She is survived by two children, Doug Smith and Kathy Allen; three grandchildren, Erica Smith, and Rory and Jesse Allen, and three nieces and their families. The family would like to thank the staff at the Rosewood Village, the Victoria General Hospital, and the Misericordia Health Centre for the care and attention they gave Helen over the years.
