MARY WILMA PENNER Mary Wilma Penner, aged 83 years, of Winnipeg, formerly of Lowe Farm, passed away on Friday September 19, 2003 at the Riverview Health Centre. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Jacob E. Penner on April 7, 2003. Left to mourn her passing are her children, Harvey (Donna), Jim (Ina), Glenn (Marjorie), all of Winnipeg, Marlene (Ken Davies) of Woodstock, ON, and Gerry (Lee) of Winnipeg; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Also surviving are sisters and brothers, Louise Friesen of Winkler, Anne Russell and Fred Doerksen both of Vanderhoof, BC, and Jake Doerksen of Vancouver, BC. Mary was predeceased by her parents Henry G. and Bertha (Neufeld) Doerksen; sisters, Bertha Seager, Katherine Schapansky, Sadie Zacharias, and Martha Elias; and brothers, Henry and Herman Doerksen. Family meant everything to Mary. She was always affirming and offering encouragement. Her lifelong interests included oil painting, and history, especially Mennonite and Manitoba history. She was a marvellous cook, always improving a recipe, and had a love of music and song. Mary was a woman of faith. Funeral services will be held at the Kronsweide Sommerfelder Mennonite Church near Lowe Farm on Tuesday, September 23 at 2:00 p.m. Interment in the Lowe Farm Cemetery. There will be viewing at Morris Funeral Home on Monday from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and at the church prior to the service.
