Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryIRENE PADDY HARGRAVE Paddy Hargrave, born Irene Joyce Barney September 26, 1920 in London, England, dearly beloved wife of Len Hargrave, passed away peacefully September 21, 2003 in Concordia Hospital. Her sickness was a lengthy one, with over 9 weeks of hospitalization, frustrating and sometimes painful for her but made less so by the wonderful care and attention of the doctors, nurses and staff of N2West, Concordia, for which Len and his family are most grateful. Paddy was a wonderful Mom to daughter Jackie (Roger) and sons, Alan (Ruth) and Andrew (Clare), and Nana to grandchildren, Simeon (Joyce), Dale, Brian (Nadine), Cherissa, Allysha, Brendan, Kevin and Michael. More recently and to her great joy, she became Nana to six great-grandchildren, Kimberley, Nyko, Ashley, Noah, Brenna and Braeden. She still found plenty of room in her heart to be a loving, caring wife. Her entire family loved her very dearly and supported her and Len to the end. Their grief is lessened only by the realization that she is at peace in the arms of a loving God. Paddy has also left to mourn, in England, two sisters and a brother, Joan (Clive), Peggy (Fred) and David (Pamela), together with their families, all of whom she loved to visit while she was still able. Besides being a wonderful wife and partner to Len and raising her family through lean and good times, Paddy somehow found the time to work as a volunteer with organizations such as "Meals on Wheels" and in her middle years, as a member of her parish ACW group, busied herself helping with her local food bank, at church bazaars, raising money for worthwhile projects in underdeveloped countries and so on. She was an artist at knitting, and spent much time producing warm baby clothing for unwed mothers and families in need. Even while she was ill in hospital she had a few tries at knitting, but even when she no longer could, she was still greatly concerned about the needs of others. If it is possible, her family has become even closer in their grief than they were before. They are unanimous in acclaiming Paddy as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and lady as, the words of the song, "Nobody Can Deny!" Her family extend their heartfelt thanks to relatives and friends, many of whom we regretfully have neglected through the years, for their many kindnesses, expressions of support, encouragement, sympathy and above all, their prayers, which have been of tremendous help during the past many weeks, as indeed they were during Paddys three periods of hospitalization last year. Very special thanks are due to Gayle, Rob, Sharon, Doctors Woo and Vajcner and, last but by no means least, Fraser, Helen, Shirley, the Choir and the wonderful people of St. Pauls. God bless you all! Please, no flowers. Contributions may be made in Paddys name to the St. Pauls Middlechurch, 299 Balderstone West, St. Paul, MB R4A 4A5 (marked "building fund") or a charity of your choosing. Thank you. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
