GUY RUSSELL BLACK It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Guy Black. Guy passed away on Monday, September 22, 2003 surrounded by his wife and children whom he loved with all his heart. Guy is survived by his mom and dad, Dorothy and James Black. His sisters, Sharon (Johnny), Brenda (Marley) and his brothers, Rodney (Diane), Glen (Lynn), Perry (Rikki), Jeff (Deanna) and many nieces and nephews. Most of all, Guy is going to be missed by his wife of 29 years Veronica; and their three beautiful sons, Ryan, Sean, and Chad. Guy was born January 23, 1954. His first job was at the local Esso station where his love of cars started when he was 14 years old. His passion of cars took him to Gimli Speedway where he won numerous trophies with his 1969 Dodge Dart. Guy continued his hobby by restoring his 1955 Chevy. At 17 Guy went to work for Allied Farm Equipment, then started his 30 year career in 1972 with Bristol Aerospace. Another of Guys great joys was taking his best buddy "Buster" swimming and running in the Sand Hills. Anyone who knew Guy, knew how much he loved his three boys. Guy enjoyed time with his boys wrestling, fishing, camping, hiking, and swimming. Guys greatest love is his wife Veronica who he met in 1972 and married July 13, 1974. Guy was never shy to show the world how much he loved his "Ron". Through 29 years of marriage Guy would never miss an opportunity to compliment Veronicas beautiful eyes. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 25, at 11:00 a.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk. A private interment will follow at a later date. The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the Beausejour paramedics and Cst. Shuttleworth of the Beausejour R.C.M.P. for their timely and compassionate care of their father and husband. Also a sincere thank you to Dr. Greene and supporting staff of the Health Sciences Centre. To all the friends and family who supported us with their thoughts and prayers. Special thanks to Aunty Sharon and Cheryl for their help through the night. In lieu of flowers, donations in Guys memory can be made to the Childrens Miracle Network (Childrens Hospital) 501-840 Sherbrook Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3A 1S1.
