Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROBERTA DAMAN (nee LAWRIE) Born in Winnipeg, November 22, 1916, Roberta passed away peacefully on August 29, 2003 at Marrwood Extended Care Unit, Langley Memorial Hospital, Langley, BC. Roberta married Bill Daman on June 29, 1942. They travelled across Canada during the War Years postings thoroughly enjoying the wonderful people with whom they lived. In 1944 Roberta and Bill returned to Winnipeg where they raised their three daughters, Bonnie Roberta (Arthur) Quesnel of Lanigan, SK, Marilyn Sheila (Paul) McNaughton of Langley, BC and Rhonda Dien Daman of Ottawa, ON. They moved from Winnipeg to Ottawa in 1969 and enjoyed many friends and the beauty of our Nations Capital City. As well, many more friends in all provinces were enjoyed as were friends in the United States and many other Countries who were involved in the Horticultural Industry. In 1999 Bill and Roberta moved to Langley, BC. Roberta is also survived by four grandchildren, Kevin (Robyn) Quesnel, Saskatoon, SK, Daryl (Marci) Quesnel, Martensville, SK, Michelle (Paul Roukema), Lorette, MB and Jason (Jennifer) McNaughton, Grande Pointe, MB; also, nine great-grand-children, Kari Lynne, Mitchell and Bryan Quesnel, Saskatoon, SK, Alyse and Daman Quesnel, Martensville, SK, Kaytlin and Emily Roberta Roukema, Lorette, MB and Hannah and Ty William McNaughton, Grande Pointe, MB; as well as, sister Bernice Johnstone, Winnipeg and brother Jack Lawrie, Morden, MB. Roberta was predeceased by her mother Nellie; father John and sisters, Jean (Warren), Margaret (Shiells), Irene (Garnett), all from Winnipeg and Norma (Lawrence) of Richmond, BC. Thanks are extended to the caring staff at Marrwood and to Dr. A. Tekle who gave Roberta exemplary care. A host of good friends have kindly expressed their condolences, which are most appreciated. A memorial service for Roberta will be held at 1:30 p.m., September 26 at St. Marys Road United Church, 613 St. Marys Rd. in St. Vital.
