FREDERICK JAMES HINGEY It is with deepest sadness that we announce the passing of Frederick James Hingey on September 22, 2003 at the Concordia Hospital, at the age of 79. Fred was born in Kingston, ON on March 9, 1924. He served in the Armed Forces during the Second World War. After leaving the Armed Forces he settled in Winnipeg where he met his wife Ann. During their 57 years of marriage they raised their five children. During these years they spent many happy times camping at West Hawk Lake, Detroit Lakes and Wisconsin Dels. Fred worked as a machinist at the CNR for 37 years. After retiring Fred and Ann enjoyed their winter getaways to Mexico and Hawaii. Fred was an avid collector and he took great pleasure in his sharing his collections of stamps, coins, cards and especially clocks with his family and friends. Fred is predeceased by his parents, James and Ellen and his brother Jack. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Ann; his children, Gordon (Mae), Shirley Sabovitch (Eddie), Bob (late wife Shirley), Jim (Sandy) and Lisa Pedrick (Derek) his grandchildren, Karen Richard (Ken), Kevin (Laurie), Christine (Mike), Sheri (Cliff), Megan, Kelsey, Lauryn and Ty; his great-grandchildren, Taylor, Haley, Danica and Kyle. The family would like to extend their special thanks and appreciated to Robert Plaetinck and the nurses on N3E at Concordia Hospital. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Heart and Stoke Foundation or Speech Language Pathology Department, in care of Concordia Hospital Charitable Foundation, 1905 Concordia Ave., Winnipeg. A memorial service to celebrate Freds life will be held at the Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day St. on Friday, September 26 at 1:00 p.m. Transcona Funeral chapel in care of arrangements.
