MABEL DORA SJOBLOM Mabel Dora Sjoblom peacefully passed away at West Park Manor on Sunday, September 21, 2003 at the age of 87 years. Mabel was born in Mulvihill, MB on March 21, 1916 to Swedish immigrants, Walmer and Augusta Berg. She was the youngest of four sisters and she grew up on the family farm surrounded by music, love and laughter. Mabel had a love for gardening at her Charleswood home and she enjoyed picnics with her sisters and their families, watching her sons curl, a day at the horse races and gatherings of song and dance at Vasa Lund. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and she was a very proud mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Mabel was predeceased by her husband Alfons Sjoblom of Abo, Finland in 1969; by her parents, Walmer and Augusta Berg; and Walmers second wife Gladys. Mabel was also predeceased by her Uncle Einar; and recently by her sisters, Violet Tonnellier and Vera Johnson. Left to mourn her passing is her sister Ruth Boden; as well as her devoted sons, Richard (Merle) and Ron (Lynne). "Nanny/Granny" leaves behind her grandchildren, Marlene (Curtis Dahl), Sharon (Rick Moore), Nancy (Knut Reinertz) of Luxembourg, Christopher of Calgary, Jenine and Colleen (Todd Cutts). Mabel is also survived by eight great-grandchildren, Eric, Christina, Sara, Garrett, Carly, Nicolas, Benji and Danny. The family would like to thank the staff of West Park Manor for their kind and compassionate care. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to a charity of ones choice. A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 26 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Interment will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CEMETERY AND CREMATORIUM 885-9715
