Bea was born and raised in the east end of London, England where she met and married her partner of 64 years, Len. Bea spent the war years raising their first child, Marion, and caring for her own three younger sisters. A second daughter, Janet, was born in 1947 and in 1948 Len and Bea immigrated to Winnipeg where they spent most of their life before moving to Portage la Prairie in 1990. Bea was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She strove to give her children a better childhood than she had known. Mum was very creative and loved to sew and craft for her family and friends. She loved to sing and had a beautiful voice. She took great pride in her vegetable and flower gardens and spent many happy hours working there. Len and Bea spent many happy times with their family at their Hillside Beach cottage. They were members of the Seniors Choir in Winnipeg and then Portage la Prairie and also the Herman Prior Centre in Portage la Prairie. Left to cherish Mums memory are her daughters, Marion (Jack) Cooper and Janet (Ed) Arnold; grandchildren Jackie, Heather (Ric), Joe (Kellie), Stephen (Donna), Brian (Lori) and Paul; great-grandchildren John, Daniel, Alicia, Janette, Kyle, Nicole, Cody, Taner, Dylan and Riley; sisters, Rene (Roy) and Doll of Norwich, England and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Len, sister Min, brother Jim and great-granddaughter Amanda. A service of remembrance will be held Wednesday, September 24 at 2:00 p.m. at Crescent Heights Chapel, 1745 Saskatchewan Ave. West, Portage La Prairie, MB followed immediately by a reception in the auditorium. Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery. We wish to thank the wonderful staff at the Lions Prairie Manor in Portage la Prairie.
