BERNICE ANN WILLIAMS (nee TARNOWSKI) On September 21, 2003 surrounded by the love of her family and friends, Bernice Ann Williams moved on to join her son in Heaven. Bernice will be sadly missed by her husband, Gary and children, Brent and Amanda; mother Jean Tarnowski; sisters, Emily (Luke) Rosenfelt, Violet (Mers) Chorney, Angie (Ernie) Hall; brother Victor (Pat) Tarnowski; brother-in-law Ted (Lucy) Williams; sister-in-law Pat (Frank) Bradics and Janet (Rob) Brown, as well as many aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews and cousins. Bernice was predeceased by her father Joseph Tarnowski in 1976; her infant son Carter Frank in 1997 and earlier this year her mother-in-law Kathleen Williams, who was a great support to her and had a special place in her heart and cousin Joanne Buchanan who shared a common battle with breast cancer. Bernice was born in Teulon, MB on October 4, 1957. She grew up on the family farm in Malonton and went to school in Gimli. Upon graduation she worked at Great West Life. She and Gary were married in 1977 and began their family in 1983 at which time she devoted herself to raising her family. In 1987, Bernice and Gary moved from Winnipeg to Stonewall where they began their family businesses. Bernice assisted in establishing the business and together they became involved in Kinsmen and Kinettes. She enjoyed the friendship made through involvement in many community activities and working in several of the local businesses. She was most recently employed at The Marketplace, where you could count on her infectious smile and friendly words. She was a willing volunteer in many different areas of the community. Family and friends were very important to her. She looked forward to all the special family gatherings. She loved people and always made excellent choices in friends, who have been supportive through all the tough times. She enjoyed bonfires at the farm, time at Victoria Beach and visits with friends and family and playing cards or games. She loved and embraced life to the fullest. She was a devoted wife and mother who loved to cook and bake and spending endless hours playing with her children. She was very proud of her children and deeply regretted not being able to see them through the years ahead. She was very grateful for the loving care of her husband and their 26 years together. Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be held Friday, September 26 at 10:00 a.m. at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, 433 Main St., Stonewall. Honorary pallbearers are her nephews, Travis, Frank and Darryl Rosenfelt, Kevin and Jason Chorney, Percy Hall, Ian Tarnowski, Steven and Mark Williams, Mitchell and Matthew Bradics. In lieu of flowers, donations to CancerCare Manitoba or to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation would be appreciated. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall in care of arrangements.
