He retired from the CNR in 1990 after 39 years of service in the Fort Rouge, Symington and Transcona Shops. He was always interested in sports and was deeply committed to the rebuilding of the Maple Leaf Community Club. He believed in contributing to his community and was involved in Senior Soccer, Major Junior Hockey and Intermediate Hockey over the years. A special thanks to Dr. John Ormiston, Dr. Hugh Smith and the nursing staff on 3rd Floor East at Concordia Hospital for the compassionate care you gave Dad during the last month of his life.
