GLADYS McLEAN Waabishki Bineshii Ikwe "White Thunderbird Woman" Suddenly on September 20, 2003, at her residence, Gladys McLean, aged 38 years, dearly beloved mother of Kyle, Shaun, Joseph (Heather) Harper, (grandson Aidan), of Lake Manitoba First Nation. Gladys was born January 27, 1965, at Eriksdale, MB. She also leaves to mourn her mother Lillian (Harry) Roulette; her sisters, Florence (Scott), Eileen and Maxine; her brothers, Stuart, Chris and Peter; her stepsisters and stepbrothers, Runa (Michael), Arlene (Fabian), Susie (Derek), Tanya, Eve, Jeremiah, Francis; and sister-in-law Eva. She also leaves to mourn her grandmother Jennie; aunts, Lena, Linda, Delma (Joe), Margaret, Rosemary; uncles, Jules, Gordon, Garry, Howard (Geraldine) and Clifford; her great-aunts, Lillian (Ralph) Pelletier, Evelyn Swan, Lola Chippeway; her godparents, Lawrence (Rose) Mousseau, Andrew (Martha) Houle. She was predeceased by her father Joseph Chippeway; grandfather Louis Chippeway; uncle Chris, uncle George; aunt Gladys, aunt Marlene and aunt Florence; her grandparents, Ida and John McLean; and her brother Michael. A wake service will be held on Wednesday, September 24 at her residence on Lake Manitoba First Nation, beginning at 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 25 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Theresa Roman Catholic Church with interment to follow in the Lake Manitoba Reserve Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Marvin McLean, Russell McLean, Chris McLean, Scott Cameron, Leslie McLean and Wesley Chippeway. Honorary pallbearers will be Lloyd and Florence McLean, Audrey Rusk, Eva Sinclair, Bill Chippeway, Archie (Myra) Chippeway, Jean Cromer, Alex (Mabel) Chippeway; her nieces and nephews, Marcus, Gordie, Mikey Jr., Pamela, Baby Denay, Brett and Sheanna, Whitney, Chris Jr. and Cathy Roulette; also her friends, Pam and Harold. Everyone present, please consider themselves honorary pallbearers. The family would like to thank Chief and Council and everyone who helped during our time of need.
