SANDRA DAWN SANDERS Peacefully at the Lakeshore General Hospital on Monday, September 22, 2003, Sandra Sanders passed away at the age of 61 years of Ashern, MB. Sandra was born May 30, 1942 in Macleod, AB. A resident of Manitoba since 1952, Sandra married John on October 22, 1966 and moved to Ashern, MB that same year. She was highly active in the community and had many friends. She helped out as a Speech Therapist at school and also spent time judging public speaking and poetry at both school and 4-H. Sandra also served six years as a Trustee on the Lakeshore School Division Board. She sat on the Ashern Hall Committee for many years and served on the Roman Catholic Church Executive in Ashern as well. Sandra enjoyed curling, playing bingo, boggle and loved to take cruises with her family. Her wit and smile brought joy to those she encountered. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her son Scott; her mother Eileen Dyer; her sister Sheryl (Les) Trowsdale and her numerous other family. Sandra was predeceased by her father Albert and her husband John. Sandra will be sadly missed but never forgotten by her family and friends. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, September 26 at 2:00 p.m. in the Holy Cross Catholic Church, Ashern, with Fr. David Kowalski officiating. Interment to follow in the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Arthritis Society, Suite 105, 386 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 3R6 or to the Lakeshore Hospital Guild, c/o Julie Bergner, P.O. Box 721, Ashern, MB "For use in the Palliative Care Unit". The family would like to thank Dr. Isaacs and the staff of the Lakeshore General Hospital who helped make her transition so peaceful.
