J.C. (CURLY) GAGNON On September 24, 2003, Curly began a new journey. He was born on October 9, 1932 in La Broquerie, MB. He is predeceased by his parents Anne-Marie and Alexander Gagnon as well as seven brothers and one sister. He is survived by his loving wife Anna; his two daughters, Nicola (Marty) and Danielle (Rick) and Devin, his "Bud" grandson. He is also survived by his sister Grace of Gravelbourg, SK; his brother Nap (Bernice) as well his nieces and nephews, Pat (Don), Ron (Barb), Michelle, Bobby and Charlie and their children, Michael, Jason, Jacqueline, Danielle, Nicole and Jacques. Curly had many different jobs from jewelry sales, carpentry to his own chemical company. Curly and Anna moved to Petersfield in 1972, building their own home where he became very involved in the community. He did so by being President of the Community Hall, played Santa for 30 years, fundraising chairman of the St. Annes Church, sat on the committee for the Petersfield Mallard Duck. During that time he also served as councillor of Ward 5 for eight years in St. Andrews. His last and most enjoyable job was that of By-Law Officer for St. Andrews. Curlys greatest accomplishment was the love he extended to his family. Curly will be missed by his extended family in England, Roger, Pat and girls, John and Roma and family, Rod, Diane and Mathew, as well as Radu, Rhea Rasidiscu, Lumi and Mihai, Victor and Michelle Rasidiscu of Sherbrook, QC, and his new friend and daughter, Kerri Speers and girls Shasta and Jamie of British Columbia. A Service of Remembrance will be held Saturday, September 27 at 10:30 a.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk with Pastor Stan Richards officiating. The family wishes to thank the staff of the Palliative Unit (8th floor) at the St. Boniface Hospital for their compassion and care. At Curlys request, please do not send flowers.
