ELSIE BUHR It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Elsie Buhr on September 22, 2003, five days after her 91st birthday at the Charleswood Care Centre. Elsie will be forever remembered by son Brian and his wife Grace and daughter Barbara and is also survived by brother Edward. She was a warm and generous granny and nana to Brians sons, Darryl and Randy as well as Barbaras children, Gaylene, Denise and Andrew. She was also a great granny (aka GG) to Lauren, Shaun, Evan, Dylan, Dallas and Amber. She was predeceased by her sister Emma; husband Edward; grandson Kenneth and brother Wesley. A kind, loving and gentle soul, Elsie had many simple pleasures in life. She took great pride in her family, bowled in a ladies league for many years and also sang in the choir at Stradbrook Senior Centre. She was a longtime member of Harrow United Church. Many know Elsie from her 25 year plus tenure at The Bay in the Paddlewheel Restaurant. For many years, she manned the Paddlewheels ice cream bar and was proud to have served The Guess Who and various other Winnipeggers. Once she retired, Elsie enjoyed a wonderful life. She travelled to Europe several times and spread her radiant smile around her apartment block and the Osborne Village neighborhood that she resided in for many years. Elsie was cremated according to her wishes. A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, September 30 at 3:00 p.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. Reverend Teresa Moysey of Harrow United Church will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, please say a special prayer for Elsie. Arrangements entrusted to: GLEN LAWN FUNERAL HOME 455 LAGIMODIERE BLVD. 982-7550
