MARTHA (META) WALKER PARSONS Passed away on Friday, September 26, 2003, at the Third Crossing Manor, Gladstone, MB, Meta Parsons, aged 84 years, formerly of Plumas, MB, widow of Arthur Parsons. Mom was born on February 4, 1919, in Clydesbank, Scotland, to Thomas and Jean McLeary. They came to Canada in 1927 and settled in the Ogilvie District. They farmed until 1937 when they moved to Plumas. In 1943 Meta married Arthur Parsons, who worked as a blacksmith for 62 years. They had two children, Iris and Jim. Meta is survived by her son Jim Parsons of Plumas; daughter Iris (Roger) Lampron; grandson Shayne; and one brother Jack, all of Winnipeg; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Arthur in 1970; her parents Jean and Thomas McLeary; two brothers, Jim and Archie; and one sister Jean. Cremation has taken place. It was her wish to be buried as her brother Archie was - at a private graveside service at a later date. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Plumas Cemetery, Plumas, MB R0J 1P0, or to a charity of ones choice. Clarkes Funeral Home, Gladstone in care of arrangements.
