Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySVEND A. JENSEN Svend A. Jensen at the age of 88 years passed away peacefully at the Selkrik General Hospital on Friday, September 26, 2003. He is survived by his loving wife Erika, two stepsons, Jergen (Gertrude) in Germany and George (Gerhilde) in Austria; three brothers and three sisters in Denmark. Svend was born in Odum, Denmark on October 2, 1914. In 1950 he immigrated to Canada to the Selkirk area where in 1959 he met and married his wife Erika. They resided on Sinclair Avenue until one and a half years ago when aging health forced him to move to Tudor House nursing home. Svend was employed by the Manitoba Rolling Mills for 26 years retiring on August 1, 1979. He loved to travel with his loving wife Erika whom he cherished very much. Together they travelled to their homelands overseas, United States and throughout Canada. He also loved gardening and looking after his yard. Svend was a very faithful member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. His love, kindness and generosity will be remembered by all who knew him. Cremation has taken place. A service of remembrance and interment of ashes will be held on Wednesday, October 1 at 1:00 p.m. at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, No. 9 Highway, one-half mile south of Selkirk. Pastor Dave Saude officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Svend can be made to The Canadian Lutheran World Relief or the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church memorial fund. A special thank you to the doctors and nursing staff at the Selkirk General Hospital. Also a special thank you to the nurses and staff at Tudor House Nursing Home for the care Svend received for the past one and a half years. Rest In Peace Gilbart Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
