Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryTHE VERY REV. FR. ANTHONY MAVROMARAS On Saturday, September 27, 2003 at the Grace Hospital, Fr. Anthony Mavromaras passed to his eternal rest. Left to mourn his passing are his wife of 59 years Chrysoula; son Michael and only granddaughter Sarah of Edmonton. Also surviving in Greece are his brother John; sister Maria; sister-in-law Markia and numerous nieces and nephews. He served for six years during the Second World War. Father Anthony served as a parish priest in Halifax from 1950-1960. He was the parish priest of St. Demetrios in Winnipeg from 1960 until 1982. In 1983, Father Anthony and Chrysoula moved to Kitchener where he served as parish priest until their return to Winnipeg in 1999. Prayers will be said on Wednesday, October 1 at 7:00 p.m. in St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, Grant and Shaftsbury. Funeral Rites will be held on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. also in the church. Active pallbearers will be John Philopoulos, Constantine Vardalos, Emm Chouzouris, Dr. Ernest Cholakis, Peter Ginakes and Peter Danakas. Interment will follow in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church. THOMSON Funeral Chapels - 669 Broadway - 783-7211
