ROGER PANCIERA 1927 - 2003 It is with great sorrow we announce the sudden passing of Roger Panciera on September 26 at the Health Sciences Centre. Roger was predeceased by his mother (Lucia) and father (Carlo), and his brother (Roberto). He will be sadly missed by his loving wife Maria of 46 years, his two sons, Carlo and John (Sherry) and his two grandchildren, Myles and Elliott whom he was most proud of. Also left to mourn are his brothers, Aldo (Mary) and Enrico (Alice) and sister-in-law Josie (Gus). Nieces and nephews are Robert, Rick, Linda, Louisa, Pat, Mark and Linda. Left in Pescara, Italy are sister Rina (Umberto) Santavencre, and nieces and nephews, Rita (Menotti) Macchia and their children, Matteo, Marzia (Marrio) Ferri, Luciano (Lidia) Santevenere and sons, Daniele and Alberto, Angela (Osman) Cicaco. and Andrea (Corretta) Santavenere. Roger was born in Italy and moved to Winnipeg in 1954. In 1956 Maria came from Belgium where they had met, and were married at the Holy Rosary Church, where Roger also sang in the choir. Roger loved fishing and attending Blue Bomber football games. For many years, Roger was an active member of the Knights of Columbus. Roger was employed at East West Packers until his retirement. Speaking five different languages, Roger loved to talk to everyone about anything. Roger had made many friends over the years and was known for having a special place in his heart for children and for helping others. Roger will now watch over us from above and wait for us to join him. Prayers will be held on Tuesday, September 30 at 7:00 p.m. in the Holy Rosary Church, 510 River Ave. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, October 1 at 10:00 a.m. also in the Holy Rosary church with interment to follow in St. Boniface Cemetery in the family plot.
