JOHN (JACK) GANNON VE4AJG Peacefully, on September 30, 2003 at the St. Boniface Hospital after a 5 year battle with lymphoma, Jack passed away at the age of 78. He is survived by his wife Margaret; sons, Douglas (Deborah), Keith; grandchildren, Ernie (Courtney), Kevin, Robert and Mary; great-grandchildren, Alanna, Xander; sisters, Catherine of Castlegar, BC, Marguerite (Harold) Ackney of Castlegar; brother-in-law Charles (Hilda) Curtis; sister-in-law Miriam; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, James and Viola Gannon. Born in Winnipeg, the second of three children, Jack grew up in the north end, attending Luxton School and St. Johns Tech. During the war he was a civilian wireless operator in Aishihik and Watson Lake, YT. He worked for CN/CP Telecommunications for 36 years, retiring in 1987. He enjoyed travelling throughout Canada and the United States. He was also a member of the East Kildonan YMCA EagerBeavers Fitness Club. Special thanks to Dr. James Johnston and nurses, Erin and Gisele, the nurses at CancerCare and all the nurses at St. Boniface Palliative Care. Flowers are gratefully declined.
