Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN (JACK) WESLEY GOODBRANDSON With deep sadness we announce that Jack Goodbrandson, aged 51 years, of Selkirk, passed away on September 30, 2003 at the Health Sciences Center, surrounded by his family. Jack will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his wife Holly; children, Nicole (Bryan) and John (Sheila) and grandson Jace. He also leaves to cherish his memory his mother Wilma; sister Joy (Ted), Dori (Darrell) and Becky (Gerry) his special friend and brother Ron (Diane), Jeff and Kevin; his mother-in-law Lilly Kossack and the entire Kossack family; and many dear friends and relatives. Jack was predeceased by his Dad, John in 1970 and father-in-law Harry in 1995. Jack was born and raised in Selkirk and received his education there. After graduation, Jacks dream was to own his own trucking business. That dream was fulfilled when Jack and Ron entered into the partnership of Goodbrandsons Transfer Ltd. in 1989. Another dream was achieved when Jack and Ron purchased the Poplar River Barge and established Waterways Transport in 1999 and their first voyage north was May 6, 2000. In Jacks spare time he enjoyed the outdoors whether it was hunting in Hartney, camping at Black Lake, fishing or golfing. He was a lifelong member of the Selkirk Evangelical Lutheran Church. Jacks greatest love was his family and time spent with them. He will be sadly missed and never forgotten. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the M-ICU staff, the S-ICU staff and the neurological team at the Health Sciences Center. We are truly grateful for your care and support. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 3 at 1:00 p.m. in the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church on Hwy. No. 9, just south of Selkirk, with Pastor Stan Richards officiating. A private family interment will follow in the Selkirk Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, 6 Donald St., Winnipeg R3L 0K6.
