WIESLAWA KRAJEWSKI-SZCZESNIAK It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of Wieslawa on Tuesday, September 30, 2003 at the St. Josephs Nursing Home. Wieslawa will be sadly missed by her beloved husband Czeslaw; sister Anna (Boleslaw) Kurylo; sister-in-law Anna Majnusz; nephews, Richard (Isabel) Kurylo, Tedd (Kim) Kurylo, Arthur Kurylo, Leslie (Donna) Majnusz, Gerald Majnusz; and nieces, Barbara (Les) Sytkowski, Barbara (Steve) Hucaluk and Mary (Frank) Mayda. She will also be missed by her many great nieces, nephews and family members in Poland, United States, Czech Republic and the rest of Canada. Wieslawa is predeceased by her first husband Jozef Krajewski and brother Miroslaw Majnusz. After suffering many hardships in Poland and Eastern Europe during the Second World War, Wieslawa immigrated to Winnipeg in 1953. In Winnipeg Wieslawa was very active in the Polish community. She served as an editor of the Polish newspaper Czas for many years and later managed the Polish Combatants Association Credit Union. She also had been a president of the Federation of Polish Women in Canada. Wieslawa enjoyed spending time with family and friends and especially found great joy and happiness from her many nephews and nieces. Visitation will be on Friday, October 3 at 10:00 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at St. John Cantius Roman Catholic Church located at 846 Burrows Ave. The family would like to thank the staff at St. Josephs Nursing Home for their care and compassion.
