MOLLY DOROTHEA MELNYK Peacefully on Saturday, September 27, 2003, at the Health Sciences Centre, Winnipeg, MB, Molly Melnyk passed away at the age of 71 years. A graveside funeral service will be held on Friday, October 3 at 11:00 a.m. in Garry Memorial Park, 1291 McGillivray Blvd., Winnipeg, MB. Molly lived for many years, in Winnipeg, where she was self employed as a restaurant owner. She operated her businesses at George N. Jackson Fabrics and later Garden Gate Pontiac Buick Ltd. In 1999 she moved to Portage la Prairie, where she resided until ill health forced her to move to the Deer Lodge Center. Her family was her life and her grandchildren and great-grandson brought her much pleasure. Predeceased by her father William Heffel and one sister Joyce (Maynard) Pederson. Molly is survived by her mother Amelia Heffel of Creston, BC; two sons, Neil (Sue) of Kelowna, BC, and Larry Melnyk of Winnipeg, MB; three daughters, Dorothy Arnal of Winnipeg, Darlene (Wayde) Drain of Portage la Prairie and Cindy Melnyk of Winnipeg; eight grandchildren and one great-grandson. Molly is also survived by three sisters, Louise (Ray) Pederson of Creston, BC, Ruth (Fred) Martin of Nelson, BC, and Sandra Reid of Creston, BC; one brother, Robert (Norma) Heffel of Kitchener, BC and numerous nieces and nephews. Also one very special friend, Tom McCormick of Winnipeg, MB. If friends so desire, contributions to the Kidney Foundation of Canada, 200-55 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB would be appreciated.
