My great aunt was more than that title. She was everything. She took care of me and prepped me for school in the morning. She brushed my hair and made me breakfast, not to mention lunch everyday. When I was little my mom would leave very early for work and I would wait to hear the door close so I could sneak down the stairs and crawl into bed with her where I felt safe with her and my great Uncle. They both loved me so. I only wish I could tell them how much they both meant to me. My aunt was a character. Genowefa was always ready to welcome everyone with open arms and enjoyed time with her family. I really loved her as another Mother. I was very spoiled as I really had 3 mom's. My aunt was kind and patient. I was fortunate that she put up with a lot of my teenage antics. SHe would always stand up for me. I remember especially when I was sick and stayed home from school. Those were my favorite memories as she would cuddle with me and make me her special tea. we would enjoy the price is right and the weather channel. Oddly enough not a day goes by that I don't check the weather. She would make me chicken soup and scratch my back lightly and put me into a deep sleep. She would sing to me Je yest ta oulitsa. I remember feeling very loved and very special. I think of her every day. I miss her. I know she was loved by our family and I am forever thankful to her for being there for me. I love you and hope you I will see you again someday. - Posted by: kasia ambeau (third daughter) on: Oct 30, 2014
