RONALD STANLEY PIETT The family of Ronald Stanley Piett sadly announces the passing of our loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, on September 30, 2003. Ron fought a long hard battle, won and is our hero. Ron is predeceased by his parents, Daisy and Stanley; his sisters, Dorothy, Clara, Thelma, Eva and his twin brother Donald. He leaves many happy memories with his soul mate and wife Pamela, and his loving children, Karin and her fiance Franz, Derrick, his wife Celine and grandson Jarod; Shannon and fiance Brian; niece Teresa and husband Rob and children, Lexi and Austin; nephew Dennis and wife Pat; nephew Norman and wife Diane. He is also survived by his loving sisters, Marjorie, Jean; his brother Fred and wife Diane; and a large extended family. Born in Neepawa, MB on December 15, 1934, Ron joined the CNR at age 17 in 1952. He retired after a long and successful career as a locomotive engineer in 1995. He had a youthful passion for athletics. He excelled from a young age. Ron had a love of nature and nurtured a yard full of birds, squirrels and rabbits. He never lost his love of the land. Rons door was always open to anyone in need. In keeping with Rons wishes, cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 3, at 2:00 p.m. in Green Acres Funeral Chapel, Hwy. No. 1 E. at Navine Rd. with Rev. Dr. Sharon Wilson officiating. Interment will follow the next day Saturday, October 4 at 2:00 p.m. in Riverside Cemetery, Neepawa, MB. The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the Palliative Care Team, Dr. Ralph Wong and Cancer Care Manitoba. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cancer Care Manitoba Foundation, ON109-675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.
