ERWIN ZAPP 1917 - 2003 We are saddened to announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Erwin Zapp, aged 86 years, at the St. Boniface Hospital on September 30, 2003. He was born in Wuppertal, Germany on June 11, 1917. In 1960 he immigrated with his family to Winnipeg, Canada. He was employed with Earthworm Piling & Foundation Ltd. As a young boy he enjoyed playing soccer; as a young father he took Ingo and Heidi to watch soccer games every Sunday afternoon. In Canada, fishing and hunting became his hobbies. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 61 years, Ursula; son Ingo (Ursula) daughter Heidi Pusnik; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Ellie (Zapp) Luetter of Germany; Gertraud Luedtke; Christa Sachse (Heinz) of Winnipeg; relatives and friends in Canada and Germany. He was predeceased by his parents, Walter and Maria Zapp; four brothers, Eugen, Clemens (Erna), Walter (Marga), Kuno (Louise) three sisters, Thea (Peter Derichs), Irma (Arthur Schierschlicht), Elvira (Hans Ries) and son-in-law Robert Pusnik. Funeral service will be held on Friday, October 3 at 11:00 a.m. at Klassen Funeral Chapel, 1897 Henderson Hwy., with Rev. Albert Durksen officiating. Interment will take place at Mennonite Memorial Gardens. Viewing at the funeral home prior to the service. The family wishes to extend thanks to the staff at the St. Boniface Hospital for their loving care, and special thanks to Dr. Harvey Lee. Rest in Peace!
