Charles passed away peacefully at Concordia Place where he had been a resident for the last five years. Charles was predeceased by his wife of 39 years, Doris (Blahey) on July 4, 1988. He was also predeceased by his parents, Andrew and Karoline; sister Ann; and brothers, John and Joe. Left to miss his great sense of humour and to cherish his memory are daughters, Grace (John) Joba, Linda (Ken) Rigey and Sandra (Cliff) Skrabek; his grandchildren and honorary pallbearers, Ryan, Aaron, Ashley and Brittany. He is also survived by his sisters, Elsie Sumka, Mary Troschuk and Helen Bazilewich. Charles will be missed by his many dear friends at Concordia Place. Charles was born in Zbaraz, MB on July 16, 1915. In addition to farming, Dad served as Postmaster and Insurance Agent in the Broad Valley area for all of his working life. Charles and Doris moved to Winnipeg in 1986 where they started to enjoy their retirement life together. Charles being a very gregarious person was involved in many activities such as seniors group functions, travelling, bowling, cribbage and visiting with friends. We would like to extend special thanks to Dads good friend and daily companion, over these past five years, Jean Zurcher and to the staff at Concordia Place for their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Charles name to Concordia Place, Patient Recreation Fund, 1000 Molson St., Winnipeg, MB R2K 4L5.
