LILLIAN MAUDE HABING (nee FISHER) On Wednesday, October 1, 2003, Lillian Maude Habing, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, entered into eternal rest at Oakbank Personal Care Home at 89 years of age. She was predeceased by her husband, Gerald in January 1984; grandson Bradley Habing; siblings, Ethelwyn Crossman, Harry Fisher and Oswald Fisher. She will be lovingly remembered by daughters, Betty (Jerry) Malko, Sharon (Jerry) Krochak; sons, Bob (Faye), Chy (Ruby), Ken (Moyra), Deryl (Bev) Habing; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren, many relatives and close friends. Maude was born June 19, 1914 to Alfred and Mary Fisher at Hazelridge, MB. She completed her schooling at Hazelridge. On June 21, 1935 she married Gerald Habing and they farmed at Hazelridge until 1953 when they moved with their family to a farm near Kelwood, MB. They retired from farming in 1969 and lived in Kelwood before moving to Sunrise Lodge in Anola in 1980. Maude will always be remembered as a loving mother who spent countless hours cooking, sewing, quilting, and knitting for each family member. She was always there to lend a helping hand or watch over a grandchild. Wherever Maude lived she soon became an active member in the Church and community, volunteering her time and energy wherever needed. In October 2000, she moved into Kin Place Personal Care Home in Oakbank where she resided until her passing. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at Kin Place for their care and compassion. A service to celebrate Maudes life will be held on Saturday, October 4 at 1:30 p.m. in Green Acres Funeral Chapel, Hwy. #1 E. at Navin Road, with Rev. Anne Manikle officiating. Viewing will take place in the chapel one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kin Place Personal Care Home in Oakbank or to a charity of your choice.
