PEARL COOPER 1913 - 2003 On Monday, August 25 at Riverview Health Centre, we said goodbye to our dear Nanny. Pearl is survived by her only daughter Hazel and her husband Paul Quinton; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Jeff, Susan, Jason and Amy Quinton; John, Jane, Annie and Laura Quinton; Janet, Bill, Lauren and Kristen Skelly of Vancouver; JoAnne, Frank, Cindy and Steven Greinke of Huntington Harbour, California; sisters, Rose Gibson and Viola and her husband George Smith; and many nieces and nephews. Pearl was predeceased by her husband Fred; her parents, William and Alice Kellough; five brothers, Robert, George, Clifford, Ruben and John; and four sisters, Gertrude, Mary, Leone and Irene. This very special lady had a lifetime career in fashions. She began at a young age as a model with Brigdens, Eatons, the Bay and Hollingsworth. She then progressed into retail sales, then on to management and fashion buying with the House of Mark-Mills. When Polo Park opened she managed the Hanford Drewitt Import Shop and the Fur Fashion Salon. When Pearl and Fred moved to Regina, she continued in fashions retiring at the age of seventy. Pearl and Freds generosity to friends and family will not be forgotten. After Freds death, Pearl moved to the Courts of St. James where she enjoyed twelve years of friendship with The Golden Girls. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Grace Hospital where Nanny received tender-loving care for eight months. To the entire Riverview Family we are so grateful to all of you for enabling Pearl to live for five and a half years with grace and dignity. If friends so desire, a gift in Pearls memory may be sent to either of the above foundations. A private graveside service has been held. We regret that the memorial service planned for October 9 will not take place. Behind the aged face of a long-time Christian are memories of family and friends. Wrinkles stand for earnest times of prayer, loving care, and decades of useful, hard work. The beauty is no longer the skin-deep charm of youth but the time-honoured loveliness of a life well lived. We love you Nanny and Pop. NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200
