JOAN PETERSON It is with great sorrow and sadness that we announce the untimely although peaceful passing of our dear mother, grandmother, aunt and dear friend, Joan, on the 26th of September, 2003. Joan was predeceased by her husband George and her mother Mary. She is survived by her loving children, Cindy and (Tom) Luce, Susan and Sandra Peterson. Also grandchildren, Tessa, Dylan, Matt and Ben. And her very close friends, Ronnie and Jim Carbone and their children, Ken (Jade) and Lori. Joan had many hobbies including sewing, crafts, pottery, baking and playing cards with her family and friends. She also spent many hours making baby gifts that she donated to various charities. Joan enjoyed spending her time for many years at Sandy Hook near Lake Winnipeg with her family and friends. She especially enjoyed roaming the beach with her daughters and granddaughter searching the shores for "lucky stones". The family affectionately referred to this beach as the "Secret Beach". Her family and all her friends will sadly miss Joan. At Joans request a private family funeral was held on October 2. If so desired, donations may be made to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation.
