IRENA TKACHUK Suddenly and peacefully on Friday, October 3, 2003 in the presence of her dearly beloved husband William, Irena Tkachuk, aged 84 years passed away at her residence. Irena was born on Tuesday, May 20, 1919 in Tomachiw, Western Ukraine. She came to Winnipeg on March 13, 1989 after a 50 year separation due to the Second World War from the Ukraine to be reunited with her husband William. Irena enjoyed her new life in Canada, and being together with William and the many new friends she met. She accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal saviour and was a dedicated and faithful member of the Ukrainian Baptist Church. She loved gardening, sewing and housekeeping. Irene was a gentle and quiet individual. She leaves to cherish her memory, and will be sadly missed by her beloved husband William of Winnipeg, her son Peter (Halina) in the Ukraine, her sisters, Lida and Eugenia along with their respective families also in the Ukraine, and many, many dear friends, and brothers and sisters in Christ. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 6 (tonight) between 7:00 and 8:00 p.m. at Knysh Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main St. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 7 at 10:00 a.m. also at the funeral chapel with Rev. John Tkachuk officiating. Interment will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be brothers in Christ of William and Irena. KNYSH FUNERAL CHAPEL 1020 MAIN STREET 582-0973
