JOSEPH DENCHUK January 6, 1922 - October 3, 2003 It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of our husband and father Joe Denchuk at the age of 81 years. Joe is survived by his wife of 56 years Alice, daughter Linda (Wayne) Bozyk, sons, Larry, and Daryl (Candace) and grandchildren, Tyler, Amanda and Travis. Joe was predeceased by his sister and six brothers. After a difficult battle with cancer, Joe passed away peacefully at Concordia Hospital on October 3 with his family at his side. Dad was born in Winnipeg and spent the early years of his life as a market gardener, the love of making things grow carried on through his whole life with him tending his own greenhouse up into his 80th year. After leaving market gardening, Dad went into the construction field specializing in floor coverings, where he worked until his mid 70s making numerous friends. Dad loved his cottage and the fishing there, spending as much time at it that his condition would allow him to. The family would like to thank the staff on the second floor at Concordia Hospital for their kindness and compassion with the care they provided. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Canadian Cancer Society. A memorial service celebrating Joes life will be held on Tuesday, October 7 at 1:00 p.m. in the Edward J. Coutu Ltd.
