ANNE ELIZABETH FREEMAN (nee GRIFFITHS) On October 3, 2003, at the age of 66, Anne slipped peacefully away from us. Among those who loved her and will miss her everyday are Ted, her husband of 41 years; son Tod; daughters, Cheryl and Nola (Greg), and grandsons, Cole and Mason. She will be remembered by her sisters, Pat and Sandra; brothers, John (Elaine) and Terry (Tere) many nieces, nephews, grand and great-grand nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Tim and Susan. Anne was born in Winnipeg and spent her childhood and youth in Norwood. She married her Prince Charming, Ted, on December 30, 1961. Shortly after the birth of her son in November 1962, the family moved to a new home in the town of Transcona. Her family grew to include daughters, Cheryl and Nola. Mom believed that she had been blessed with a full and happy life. Moms love and generous nature were evident everywhere. Her love of children led her to babysitting numerous children over many years. Mom was a Brownie leader, Bowling Coach, Sunday School Teacher/Superintendent. Her care and nurturing was also displayed in her beautiful flower gardens, she truly had a green thumb. Her Rose garden and Lilies brought smiles to many faces. Crafts also provided an outlet to illustrate her love of life. Mom put family before all else, and family was expanded to include the Toronto Blue Jays during the baseball season. Mom was able to remain in her beloved home until shortly before her passing. The family would like to extend special thanks to all staff at the Oncology Clinic at Concordia Hospital and the Palliative Care Unit at St. Boniface Hospital. A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 10 at 2:00 p.m. at Transcona Memorial Church, 209 Yale Ave. W. The family respectfully declines flowers.
