Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWALTER ZOLUB February 5, 1912 - October 3, 2003 On Friday, October 3, 2003 Walter Zolub passed away peacefully at the Johnson Memorial Hospital at Gimli, MB. He leaves to mourn his passing, two brothers, Nick and Ben of Arborg, MB and one sister Kay Verhoeven of Ladysmith, BC. Also his sisters-in-law, Laura Braithwaite of Weyburn, SK and Bridget Masterocola of Montreal, QC; and brothers-in-law, Lawrence Corr (Kay) of Weyburn and Palmer Corr of Trossacks, SK; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Mary and Dmytro; his wife Peggy and his sisters, Carrie Wintony and Rose Patrick. Walter was born in Silver, MB on February 5, 1912. He worked on the family farm until moving away to Thunder Bay in 1942. He worked as an orderly in the hospital while living in Ontario. Walter married Peggy Corr on October 16, 1960 and they resided in Thunder Bay for another ten years. They then resided in Winnipeg for three years before moving to Prince Albert, SK where he practiced reflexology for 13 years. A move closer to Peggys family in Weyburn followed where Walter resided until last year when he returned to the family homestead to live with his brother Nick. As one of Jehovahs Witnesses his lifelong strong faith in his God Jehovah and his determination to serve him faithfully never wavered. His genuine love for people moved him to regularly share his faith with others which in itself created lifelong friendships with people wherever he was. Walter left all of us a fine example and could rightly say "I have fought the fine fight I have run the course to the finish, I have observed the faith" 2 Timothy 4:7. Funeral service will be held at the Arborg Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses, 279 St. Philips Dr., Arborg, Thursday, October 9 at 2:00 p.m. Wes Sigvaldason officiating. Interment to follow in the Rembrandt Pioneer Cemetery. Arborg MacKenzie Funeral Home in care of the arrangements.
