NEIL DAVID SORBY SR. It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Neil David Sorby Sr., aged 76 years, beloved husband of Brenda, peacefully on Monday, October 6, 2003. Neil will be missed by his loving wife Brenda; daughter Pamela Leco (Kevin) son Neil Jr. (Carmen) daughter Darcy Sumka (Paul) sisters, Nellie Cox of Vancouver, BC and Elizabeth McKay of Victoria, BC; granddaughters, Allison, Sidney; grandsons, Neil, Cameron and numerous nieces and nephews. Neil retired from the C.N.R. as a conductor in 1989, after 38 years of service. He was a co-founder of the Arlington Sports Club, where he was still an active member. Neil was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion (Ukrainian Branch) #141. He enjoyed his time spent at the family cottage with family and friends. Neil loved life to the fullest, especially his time spent on the couch watching Archie Bunker. He also enjoyed watching his many British Comedy Shows. Friends are welcome to attend an informal gathering celebrating Neils life on Thursday, October 9 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., at the Canad Inns (Garden City Inn), 2100 McPhillips St. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made in Neils memory to the Manitoba Juvenile Diabetes Association, or to a charity of ones choice.
