STEFAN K. JOHNSON 1918 - 2003 Steve passed away peacefully in his sleep on October 5, 2003 at the St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg, MB. His family was by his side for his final days. Poppa will be cherished always by his daughters Kimberly and Rhonda; his grandchildren, Becki, Stephanie, Jill, Tina, Rachel and Matthew; and four great-grandchildren. Steve was also blessed by the lives of Ken (Donna), Scott and Danielle. Predeceased by his beloved wife Lynnore; parents Sigurdur and Bjorg (Bertha) Johnson, and sister Margaret Littleford. Steve, the youngest in his family, also leaves his sisters, Olga McKinnon and Joninna (Joan) Cupples of BC and his sister Johanna (Joey) Skaptison of Winnipeg to fondly remember his gentle and loving life. "Poppa" built our doll houses and toy boxes, fixed our broken toys and hearts, and was loved and respected by all of us. Born on Christmas Day at Silver Bay, MB in 1918, Steve was truly a gift to all who knew him. Steve attended school at Silver Bay and stayed on the family farm until 1954. Taking up employment in the construction industry operating heavy equipment in Manitoba and Ontario, he spent 25 years with BA Construction. Steves family was everything to him and his friendships were lifelong. He will also be dearly missed by his friends Margaret (Ed) and their family, Don and Bernice and their family, Jean and many others. It was Steves wish to be cremated and no formal service will be held. Please consider donations to the Humane Society or the Childrens Hospital in lieu of flowers as Poppa cherished children and puppies. Transcona Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
