Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryVICTORIA MARYK 1916 - 2003 Vicki passed away peacefully on October 6, 2003 at the age of 86 years. Predeceased by her husband Bill in 1990; daughter-in-law Debbie Maryk in 2002; brothers, Charles Perkins, Max Perkins, and sister Ann "Archie" Wysocki. She leaves to cherish her memory sons, Brian and Max and daughter-in-law Donna Maryk; grandchildren, Meagan, Morgan, Samantha and Michelle; and great-grandchild Kieran; sisters, Mary (Bill) Pauk, Irene (Fred) Kenny; brothers, George Perkins and Tom "Boysh" (Mary) Archuk; and in-laws, Victor and Terry Maryk, Jim and Doreen Maryk, Anne Maryk, Stephie Copen, Jenny (Richard) White, and numerous nieces and nephews. Vicki was born December 13, 1916 on Granville Street across from Norquay School in Point Douglas, where she would spend the next 56 years raising two sons, Brian and Max. She had fond memories of her parents and growing up with seven brothers and sisters and many friends in the old neighbourhood, particularly the Chapel family, our next door neighbours. Vicki smiled effortlessly, with a quirky sense of humour perhaps best described as a real "character". She possessed patience that even extended periods with her young grandchildren could never wear thin. Spending time with them was truly her greatest joy. The word "No" was not in her vocabulary when it came to helping her family. Vicki moved to Lions Place on Portage Avenue in 1991. She would avidly participate in all the recreational and social activities, and was a member of the Council. She developed countless friendships and described this 10 year period as the "best years of my life". Thanks to all staff and residents for making it so. Many thanks to Misericordia Hospital - 5th Floor for a superb job in keeping Vicki as comfortable as possible in her final months. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 11 at 12:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. A gathering of family and friends will follow in the Cropo Rose Room. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Victorias memory to Lions Place, 610 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, R3C 0G5 So long Ma, we had a great life with you. In our thoughts youll remain forever.
