Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMICHAEL SKRYNYK On Tuesday, October 7, 2003, Mike Skrynyk passed away peacefully at the Fred Douglas Lodge. He will be sadly missed by his devoted wife Eva; son Steven (Donna) grandchildren, Craig (Bobbi) and Lori (Benji) Janz; and great-grandsons, Noah Skrynyk and Brody Janz. Mike was predeceased by his parents; daughter Darlene; brother Joe and sister Elsie. He was born to Stanley and Mary on August 28, 1915, and married Eva on September 30, 1939. He attended Strathcona and Isaac Newton schools. Mike worked for Swift Canadian for 42 years. After a short retirement he resumed work at Scott Bathgate for another 17 years, finally retiring at 80 years of age. Mike was active as a steward and president of his local union, helping negotiate many labour contracts. He enjoyed working with his many co-workers, watching sports, singing in his Ukrainian choir, and bowling. He was a kind and generous man who always wanted the best for his family. Special thanks are extended to the staff at Fred Douglas for their exceptional care. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations if desired may be made in Michaels memory to Fred Douglas Lodge or to a charity of your choice. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 11, at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St. Interment will follow in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens.
