MARJORIE ROBERTS On Wednesday, October 8, 2003, at the Grace General Hospital, Marjorie passed on to be with her Lord at the age of 90 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Leslie Roberts and Pat Miles (Andy) and their children, Matthew and Mark; sons, Dick Roberts (Jean) and their children, Lynsey and Adam, of White Rock, BC and Alan Roberts (Pat) and their children, Dan, Amy and Pam; surrogate son Eric Broughtin; sister Grace Dietrick; as well as nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Marjorie was predeceased by her daughter Mary Ann Roberts; parents, David and Ethel Dick (Ennis) sister Dorothy; brother David Dick; and husband Clark Daniel Roberts. Marjorie was born and lived in Winnipeg most of her life, except for the 18 years she raised her family on the farm near Portage la Prairie, MB. She attended Laura Secord, Gordon Bell and Kelvin Schools. In 1933 Marjorie graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Baccalaureate degree in Home Economics. She loved her work as a Dietician at the Portage General Hospital, the University of Manitoba, and as the Head of Food Services at Riverview Health Centre. Mom loved all aspects of life, her family, and in particular, the family cottage at West Hawk Lake, where many wonderful times were had with family and friends since the early 1930s. She placed a high value on her childrens education, travelled the world, kept up with current affairs and cultural events, enjoyed entertaining and preparing "fine" foods and stayed in contact through letters and visits with extended family and friends. Marjorie was a member of the Historical Society, the Naturalists Society, the University Womens Club, the Canadian Club and the Arts Club in Portage la Prairie. Marjorie was a longtime member of Westminster United Church and was an active member and Chair on the Property Committee, and loved attending bible study. She will be missed for her work visiting shut-ins. On Tuesday, October 14 at 11:00 a.m. a celebration of Marjories life will be held in the Westminster United Church, 745 Westminster Ave. (the corner of Westminster and Maryland). Our family is thankful for the support Mom received from the WRHA Home Care Aides and the staff at the Wellington. As well, a special thanks to the staff at the Grace General Hospital for helping Mom to die with dignity. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marjories memory to the Westminster Church Foundation, 745 Westminster Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3G 1A5 or to a charity of ones choice. "We Love You Mom." Now you are "free as a bird". WOJCIKS ALL BELIEFS & FAITHS FUNERAL CHAPEL & CREMATORIUM 897 - 4665
