EVA ZURBYK (nee WIEBE) On October 8, 2003, at the age of 67, our mother, grandma, auntie and friend Eva passed away suddenly, but peacefully in her sleep. She was predeceased by her husband Earl in August 2002. Eva will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by daughter Stephanie (Ken), Tatyana (Sarah, Steven, Matthew) son Darryll (Jodie), Kyle, Adam, Nicholas and Alanah. She is also survived by four sisters and one brother; numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends. Eva was born at home in Randolph, MB on September 3, 1936. Throughout her life she held numerous jobs in the restaurant industry. She felt that work kept her young. At the time of her passing she worked at the lottery kiosk in the Concourse under Portage and Main and had just recently retired from Altos in the Windsor Park Inn. Eva enjoyed the camaraderie with her customers. Mom loved to put on big dinners for friends and family and baking for her grandchildren. She also found solitude in her backyard in the summers, drinking coffee, reading the paper and listening to the birds. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 10 at Faith Lutheran Church, 1311 Dakota St. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba.
