GEORGE COMEAU March 17, 1924 - October 9, 2003 Suddenly on October 9, 2003 at the Victoria General Hospital, George Joseph Comeau passed away. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Mabel and their children, Mark (Darcy), Lois (Dale), Tim, Nancy (Anthony), Jac, Jerry (Terry) and Karen (Ben) and his daughter Carol (Clarence). He will be missed by his grandchildren, Brett, Hogan, Savanna, Tabitha, Jacey, Rachael, Tayla, Vanessa, Olivia, Tara, Teagan, Ellen, Natasha, Danielle, Claire, Madeline, and Gabriel. He was predeceased by his first wife Nellie; his parents Calixte and Germaine; his stepfather Arthur Wise; his twin sister Georgette; and brother Arthur. George was born in La Salle, MB, enlisted for the Second World War and spent three and one-half years in the Navy. After the war, he worked at the Manitoba Sugar Plant for 41 years and retired in 1989 as the Chief Power Plant Engineer. He liked to sail his boat when at his cabin at Falcon Lake with family and friends. He also enjoyed 12 years of retirement with Mabel in Whiterock, BC. George took great pride in his children and grandchildren, and returned to Winnipeg about a year ago to be closer to his family and friends. A special thanks to all the doctors and nurses who took care of him. Funeral services will be held at the Mary Mother of the Church, 85 Kirkbridge Dr., Tuesday, October 14 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Georges name to the Victoria General Hospital Development Foundation, 2340 Pembina Hwy., Winnipeg, MB R3T 9Z9.
