DORIS CREIGHTON 1914 - 2003 Peacefully at home, on the evening of October 8, 2003, a kind and gentle soul was re-united with her beloved husband, Bill, who predeceased her in 1988. Mom was born on August 28, 1914 in Yorkton, SK. Growing up, her family moved to various locations in Saskatchewan and Alberta, before finally settling in Vivian, MB. As an adult, her life was spent in the city of Winnipeg. Mom led a full and productive life, with many accomplishments of which she was justifiably proud. Family and gardening were her passions and underlying everything, was her strong Christian faith. She will be sadly missed by son Tom (Marrie) daughter Linda (Nik) grandchildren, Michael (Pat), Shannon (Greg), Christopher (Rachel), Janna (Kelly), Jason (Melodie), Erin (Dave) and the four very special great-grandchildren, Brianna, Brett, Makenna and Peyton, who brought her such tremendous joy in her latter years. She will also be missed by numerous nieces and nephews and the many young friends, who simply knew her as "Granny". In addition to her husband Bill, Mom was predeceased by three sisters and two brothers. At Moms request, cremation has taken place. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 15 at the Abundant Life Baptist Church, located at 1396 Plessis Rd. (just north of the corner of Plessis and Regent). Flowers are gratefully declined.
