Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRALPH KENT (JAKE) DAWSON On October 8, 2003 in the presence of family and friends, Jake, aged 57 years, of St. Andrews, MB, peacefully passed away. He will be remembered and deeply missed by his wife Marlene; son Daniel and daughter Kayla; brothers, Ken (Shirley), Ron (Donna), Bill (Cindy) and many dear friends and relatives. He was predeceased by his brother Bob and parents, Arthur and Irene. Jake spent 40 years in the automotive trade, 20 years as a mechanic and 20 years with Steeltown Ford as a service manager. His knowledge of anything mechanical was sought after by many and he was well respected throughout the industry. Jakes interests were many, but everything centered around friends - the ski trips he arranged, the Butter Brickle gang and the evening coffee crew. His greatest pride was the Happy Trail Riders, who, through their activities were able to donate thousands of dollars to various charities in Manitoba. The family wish to thank the staff on 5A at St. Boniface Hospital for the care and concern for Jake as well as family members. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Manitoba Riding for the Disabled. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 14 at 1:00 p.m. in Good Shepherd Lutheran Church on Hwy#9 south of Selkirk.
