BORIS MERSIL KREVESKY September 26, 1936 - October 9, 2003 After a lengthy battle with cancer, our brother, Boris passed away at his home in Beaconia Beach with his wife of 13 years, Cheryl, and his son, Warren, at his side. The eldest son of Pauline (Galay) and Mersil Krevesky, Bo was born in Ethelbert, Manitoba. Living in Pine River, he received his early schooling there. Just after the 1950 flood, the family moved to Winnipeg when our parents assumed ownership of the Square Deal Groceteria on Arlington Street. He assisted them in their business while continuing his education at Isaac Newton High School. He completed his Grade XI there and worked briefly for the Coca Cola Co. before taking his electrical apprenticeship at Melnick Bros. Electric. In 1966, he moved to Nelson, B.C. where he worked for B.C. Tel and where his children were born. On his return to Winnipeg in 1974, he worked at the Atomic Energy Plant in Pinawa and later for Service Electric in Selkirk. He continued his electrical service privately until his retirement, two years ago. Throughout his lifes journey, Bo loved his country roots and the outdoors. Camping was a favourite pastime; Grand Beach, a favourite spot. His home was a sanctuary for birds and other pets. He also valued his good friends and cherished times spent with them. A man of few words who had difficulty expressing himself, Bo loved his family and showed this through his tireless efforts put into their home and yard. In addition to his wife, Cheryl and her family, Boris is survived by his daughter, Liana (Calgary), Warren, their mother Ruth (Winnipeg) brother Mike and wife Dodie (Kelowna), their children, Paula Hudson, and Heath in B.C.; sister Orysia and John Jackson (Winnipeg) aunts and cousins. Our sincere thanks to Dr. Van Dyke, his staff at Pine Falls Hospital and Bos Home Care ladies for their care and support; the Consistory of the Greek Orthodox church staff for their spiritual guidance, and also his good neighbours, Mel and Jean Short for beign there when we couldnt be. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, October 15 at 11:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. A private family reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Boriss memory to CancerCare Manitoba, PO Box 2248, Stn Main, Winnipeg, MB R3C 9Z9 Cropo Funeral Chapel 586-8044
