GORDON EARL ROGERS Gordon, in his 84th year, passed away on October 10, 2003. After 62 years of marriage he is survived by his beloved wife Ruth (Danaher) and three sons, Bob and his family Vicky, Yvette and Bobby, Michelle and baby Faith Marie; Michael and his family Dianne, Heather, Andrea, Jennifer, Michael and Riley; and Danny and his family Nicole, Patrick and Anita. From 1955 to 1978 Dad was Human Relations Manager with the Canadian Grain Commission and the Federal Department of Agriculture. He served five years in the Canadian Army during the Second World War, mostly with the 15th Field Regiment R.C.A. and was commissioned in England. The family resided for 15 post war years in East Elmwood where Dad was a founder of the East Elmwood Community Club and the Cubs and Scouts of the district. Dad was a Past President of the Fort Rouge Curling Club and had competed in the Tankard. He was a longtime member of the Pine Ridge Golf Club and later a member of Wildewood and Niakwa Clubs. Dad was predeceased by his father Silas in 1947, mother Mary in 1972 and brother Leslie in 1976. Gordons family would like to thank all the staff of SICU at St. Boniface General Hospital for the compassionate care Dad received. Cremation has taken place. A private family service is planned for a later date with urn placement in the Cathedral Church of Saint John. In memory, contributions may be made to the Salvation Army or the War Amputees of Canada. Grandpa, You have been nothing but loving and generous; a man of honour and integrity. We have been blessed by your presence in our lives and your spirit will live on in all of us. With the greatest of love and respect, you will never fade from our memories. - Love your grandkids.
